India Gate – India – Japan 60 Years of Friendship
Sixty years of friendship between India and Japan, marked in light on a national monument. In December 2012, Creative Factory staged a projection mapping installation on the iconic India Gate in New Delhi, commemorating six decades of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The historic monument became a large-scale canvas for a visual narrative that celebrated cultural exchange, shared values, and the long-standing partnership between India and Japan. Through projection mapping, the façade of India Gate was transformed into a dynamic storytelling surface, where imagery, motion, and symbolism unfolded across its architecture.
The creative approach focused on respect for heritage and clarity of message. Rather than overwhelming the structure, the visuals were designed to enhance its presence, using light and movement to reflect themes of unity, progress, and mutual respect between the two countries.
From concept development and content design to technical execution on-site, the project required precise alignment between storytelling and architectural form, ensuring that the projection complemented the monument’s scale and significance.
The result was a landmark commemorative experience that used light as a medium of diplomacy—bringing history, architecture, and international relations together in a single shared moment on one of India’s most iconic national landmarks.
