Premiere Badminton League – Opening Ceremony

A New Year’s Eve spectacle, delivered live to television screens across the country. The second season of the Premier Badminton League opened with a broadcast experience designed to merge sport, entertainment, and live storytelling into a single unified visual journey.

Creative Factory was entrusted by Star Sports to conceptualise and deliver a rich floor-based projection mapping experience for the opening segment of the show. Working closely with the broadcaster’s creative team, we helped shape the narrative structure of the opening sequence and translate it into a dynamic live environment built specifically for television.

The central design approach focused on transforming the playing arena into a living visual surface. Through large-scale floor projection mapping, the court became an evolving canvas that responded to the rhythm of the show, guiding viewers through a carefully crafted storytelling arc that introduced the league, its energy, and its competitive spirit.

Every visual element was designed with broadcast precision in mind, ensuring clarity, impact, and seamless integration with live camera movement. The projection system worked in harmony with lighting, stage direction, and on-ground choreography to create a cohesive experience that felt both cinematic and energetic on screen.

From creative development and visual design to technical planning and show execution, Creative Factory collaborated closely with Star Sports and production partners to ensure the experience translated effectively from arena to television broadcast.

The result was a high-impact opening spectacle that set the tone for the season, demonstrating how projection mapping and live sports production can come together to elevate audience engagement and redefine the opening ceremony format.

We are grateful to Star Sports for the opportunity to contribute to this national broadcast and extend our thanks to all partners involved in bringing this ambitious live production to life.
