TELANGANA FORMATION DAY

Three of Hyderabad’s iconic buildings. Twenty-four distinct visual transformations. All built from a single photograph of each structure.

To mark the first anniversary of Telangana as a new state of India, Creative Factory designed and delivered a large-scale projection mapping experience across multiple landmark buildings in Hyderabad. The objective was to create a unified citywide visual celebration that reflected both pride and progress during this historic milestone.

Working from scratch, a team of 23 artists developed the entire show over six days and nights, crafting a series of visual narratives that reinterpreted Hyderabad’s architectural identity through light, motion, and transformation. Each building became a living canvas, cycling through multiple visual “looks” derived from a single photographic reference, reimagined through layered animation and design exploration.

Across the three structures, 24 distinct visual states were created, allowing each façade to evolve dynamically throughout the celebration. The creative approach focused on transformation as a metaphor—reflecting the formation of a new state and the beginning of a new chapter in its cultural and civic identity.

From concept development and visual design to production, mapping, and on-ground execution, the entire project was built under intense timelines, requiring precision, collaboration, and continuous iteration to deliver at scale.

The result was a powerful citywide spectacle that captured public imagination and was widely featured on the front pages of major newspapers the following morning—cementing the project as a landmark moment in large-scale urban projection storytelling.

A celebration of identity, built in light, across the heart of Hyderabad.
